Product Introduction

Many paper machines are based on the principle of Fourdrinier paper machines. Fourdrinier paper machines use special woven plastic fabric mesh conveyor belts in the forming part. Fibrous pulp (usually wood or other plant fibers) is drained to form a continuous paper web. After the forming part, the wet paper web passes through a press section to squeeze out excess water, and then the pressed paper web passes through a heated dryer section.

Fourdrinier paper machine has four different operating parts:

1. The forming part, usually called the wet part, is where the fibrous pulp filters out the liquid in the continuous fiber loop to form a wet fibrous web.

2. In the pressing part, the wet fiber web passes between large rolls loaded under high pressure to squeeze out as much water as possible.

3. Drying section, where the pressed sheet partially bypasses a series of steam-heated drying cylinders in a serpentine manner. Drying can reduce the water content to about 6% and keep it under typical indoor atmospheric conditions.

4. The calendered part that makes the dry paper smooth under high load and high pressure. Only one jaw is necessary to hold the paper, it shrinks through the drying section, and maintains the tension between the pressure section (or the crusher stack, if used) and the calender. The extra crimping makes the paper smoother, but it reduces the strength of the paper.
